How to install a Rust Server on Linux with LGSM

LGSM makes running a Rust server very simple. Here’s the commands you’ll need.

First we need SteamCMD.

sudo apt-get install steamcmd

Next we need the dependencies for LGSM

For 64 bit Ubuntu we are going to use

sudo dpkg –add-architecture i386; sudo apt update; sudo apt install curl wget file tar bzip2 gzip unzip bsdmainutils python util-linux ca-certificates binutils bc jq tmux netcat lib32gcc1 lib32stdc++6 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386 steamcmd lib32z1

next we need to make our Rust folder

mkdir rust

cd rust

now we need the LGSM script for Rust

wget -O linuxgsm.sh https://linuxgsm.sh && chmod +x linuxgsm.sh && bash linuxgsm.sh rustserver

Now all we need to do is install the server with

./rustserver install.

Its that easy with LGSM. Check out the video above to see how to change the default RCON password and change other config options.
